Words teach me how to be human.
by Todd Foley
Remember when Starbucks featured quotes on their cups? I miss those days.
When I read an especially good quote, I’d cut it out and pin it to a bulletin board.
This following is one of the most influential arrangements of words I have ever read.
Period.
“The irony of commitment is that it’s deeply liberating – in work, in play, in love. The act frees you from the tyranny of your internal critic, from the fear that likes to dress itself up and parade around like rational hesitation. To commit is to remove your head as the barrier to your life.” ― Anne Morris
Anne Morris speaks to the resistance we often face in art, relationships and faith – and how we can overcome it with one simple action.
What words do you live by? Let me know so I can add it to my bulletin board collection.
beautiful and powerful quote.
That it is. I reflected on it as I finished college, pursued the start of my career and bought my wife’s engagement ring. It continues to inspire and guide me.
Great quote! One of my favorites is “No one cares how much you know until they know how much you care.”
Love it! Do you recall who said that?
Theodore Roosevelt.
Awesome. Thanks Nicole!
