I’ve had several blogs in the past. This time, I’m sticking to it. I finally have the motivation.
What motivates me is seeing others who do their craft well. Not just well.
By some great providence, I stumbled across the following three bloggers via Twitter.
- Jeff Goins says that in order to be a writer, you simply need to write. Sounds easy, right? Only problem is that fear keeps most writers from hitting “publish.” I feel that fear right now. It never goes away, so I will keep on writing. Check out The Writer’s Manifesto. You won’t regret it.
- Max Andrew Dubinksy knows how to tap into the human condition and to do so without any inhibitions. Buy his fiction. It’s raw, it’s real, it’s bleak, but it points to hope – and it’s only $.99 on Amazon.
- David Krug gave me the much-needed push to start this blog with this post: “I don’t want an unauthorized version of me out there. I want the real me out here for the world to consume.”
I’ve never met these men, but, in just a few months, they each have had a profound influence on my life and my work. I’m not going to try copying them because my efforts will fall short. What I will do is thank them for their example.
More to come!
